1. Washing and grinding: The washing process of the potato is carried out in a washing machine. Remove contaminated mud, stones, stems and leaves and adhere to the potato. Impurities such as muddy sand on the surface, the amount of water is about 5 times that of the raw material, and after washing, it is sent to the grinder for treatment. The grinder used has both a toothed plate type and a hammer type.

2. Screening: The ground potato paste is sieved. The traditional method is to use a flat shaker, which is used in modern potato starch plants. In the sieving process, water is added for washing, the sifted material is starch milk, and the slag is sieved for a second screening to recover a part of the starch, and the washed starch slag can be used as a feed.

3. Separation and cleaning of the launder: The starch milk from the screening section is first separated into impurities such as protein in the launder, and then washed in the washing tank. The yellow slurry water with starch is separated from the launder and sent to the launder to recover the starch, and then the secondary starch is obtained through the washing tank.

4.Dehydration and drying: After washing the starch, the water content is very high, and it must be dehydrated by a centrifuge to obtain 4% wet starch with water content, and dried by a gas dryer to a dry starch with an equilibrium moisture of 20%.
